Diagnosing Multiple Walk-In Refrigeration Failures

Troubleshooting the Refrigeration Control Module
Further diagnostics revealed that power was successfully entering the control module, but no outgoing power was being delivered to the walk-in cooler and freezer systems.
During inspection of the control module area, significant water accumulation was discovered on the floor nearby. The source of the water was traced to a glycol chiller that had completely frozen solid.
It was suspected that the glycol pump motor had become seized in the ice buildup, causing electrical and communication issues in the integrated control module system.
Restoring Power to the Walk-In Systems
To isolate the issue, the glycol pump was removed from the control module, and power was reset. Immediately after the reset, all three walk-in refrigeration systems powered back on simultaneously and began cooling properly.
The walk-in food cooler, walk-in beer cooler, and walk-in freezer all responded normally once the failed glycol pump was disconnected from the control system.
Glycol Pump Removal and System Testing
After reviewing the issue and repair options, the client elected to leave the glycol pump disconnected from the control panel rather than replace the failed component at that time.
Legacy Refrigeration completed a full operational test run to verify system stability and proper cooling performance across all three walk-in refrigeration systems. All equipment continued operating normally, and testing concluded satisfactorily.
